Got off a fast amersham at 1745 at harrow on the hill. It departed at the same time as a passing northbound Chiltern train, which would have probably had its first stop at great missenden. However it looked as if the met was given priority as the Chiltern crawled past very slowly. Surely this is an odd priority as that Chiltern would now be stuck behind the met which would call at all stations from moor park. I cannot confirm which actually crossed the harrow north junction first ofcourse

I've looked at all Chiltern departures around this time. None stop at Moor Park, and alternate trains do not stop at Rickmansworth. All stop at Chorleywood, Chalfont and Latimer, and Amersham.

The Chiltern timetable on the internet shows a 1730 departure from Marylebone that's first (advertised) stop Great Missenden at 1806. I think that's the one. Trackernet does seem to show Met T435 leaving Harrow 3 at 1745 and proceeding ahead of the Chiltern coded Aylesbury Vale Parkway (fast) and indeed possibly holding it up a bit. It passed through Amersham at about 1817 - if one trusts Trackernet on that area. This is not intended to be a comment on any Signallers' actions.

Thanks for confirming t697, yes it did not stop at harrow, im not sure what time its supposed to pass harrow thats very odd that the met train is booked to proceed ahead of it, i would have thought the chiltern would be delayed if this is the case

From the Working Timetable T435 should have been at Harrow at 1731 but we see it was actually about 1744. The Chiltern passing time at Harrow is booked as 1741 but actually about 1745. So those two trains did run in the correct timetabled sequence relative to each other. Obviously there was some late running and I'm sure Signallers would tell us that the actual sequence was the best balance for the good of the overall service.
