I was on MSTS today and I was doing a freight shunt in one of the engines, I picked my coal wagons up and went on my way (thank you Chris.J for making this possible) as I was reaching 85 on the mainline I braked hard seeing something on the line. It was a family of deer feeding on the line, I blew my horn and off they went (well just dissapeared) and off I went!
Have any of you felt glad you have braked hard for something so beautiful and peaceful?
This is a question for motorists or train drivers.

don't tend to get very 'peaceful' on the LU to be honest.

I will never see a deer on the tracks, but the A line between Howard Beach-JFK and Hammels Wye (south of Broad Channel) passes directly through a federally protected bird sanctuary. I'll often see birds perching on the rails as I'm coming along but they'll see me coming (at 45 mph) and will fly away. Some won't know that I'm coming so I'll toot my horn to let them know it's time to leave. Unfortunately, there will always be one or two that probably don't feel well that will get hit.
Worst one (and probably sickly humorous to a few) was when two pigeons were mating on the rails as I was speeding towards them. The female saw me and fled right away, but the male was still in full humping & thrusting mode and refused to budge. Needless to say, it was the male that wound up getting f***ed.
Well, they do say that to go while having sex is the best way.

I went over a Swan whilst doing 50mph at Moor Park once. I didn't see it until I was on top of it, I blew my whistle aand it ducked down, and survived

Tell me, if one's Mother-in-law is standing in the four foot, does one brake?

Tell me, if one's Mother-in-law is standing in the four foot, does one brake? Surely it depends on whether or not she's likely to damage the train?

Well I have known women who's stare would certainly cause a train to retire to the depot in a poorly condition.
