www.southeasternrailway.co.uk/about-us/major-programmes/crossrailThe new Abbey Wood station opening on 22nd October - It looks like it will have a Traditional Ticket office, which will be great - One of Two Crossrail ticket offices, the other is in the new wing at Farringdon Station. Managed by TFL from that time, Southeasten relinquishes management from then.

Managed by TFL from that time, Southeasten relinquishes management from then. They (Faringdon and Abbey Wood) have to have traditional ticket offices! So to will all stations served by the Elizabeth line between Stratford - Shenfield and Acton - Reading (that possessed them when operated by Grater Anglia and GWR) Historically its a franchise requirement of most TOCs that busy stations still retain ticketing office facilities - including the ability to sell a ticket to any other served by National Rail operations in the UK with far more measures in place to protect them. As such TfL are unable to roll out their Underground 'no ticket office' station model to places served by National Rail operators. Once again I point out that despite the branding, the 'Elizabeth line' is NOT a tube line - it is a integral part of our national rail network east of Stratford and West of Paddington which puts quite a lot of restrictions on what TfL / the Mayor can do behind the scenes.
