I came across this picture today: www.flickr.com/photos/125096403@N08/29431605905/It shows what appears to be the last Bakerloo train from Watford running in June 1982. However, most sources state that the service was withdrawn in September 1982? Can anyone clear this up?

Does this assist? linkThey may have had a delay in the service termination date. And, according to Mike Horne's Capital Transport volume The Bakerloo Line 'After several proposed withdrawal dates(all cancelled at short notice), the last timetabled Bakerloo Line train actually departed from Watford Junction on the morning of 24th September 1982.'

Could it be the last 1938 stock train? (With 1972 stock continuing d-for a few months more) Or was the service officially "suspended" between June and September? Or did the closure have to be postponed because Stonebridge Park depot wasn't ready to take all the stock and Croxley Green had to be used for longer than expected?

The 1972 stock left the Bakerloo in 1979 when the Jubilee line opened. The line was then all 1938 stock until the 1959 stock began to arrive in 1983. Stonebridge Park depot was fully completed in 1979.

The 1972 stock left the Bakerloo in 1979 when the Jubilee line opened. Of course it did - silly me. It did make it to Watford Junction (and indeed Croxley Green depot) in the late 1970s though
