I am pretty sure that I recognise the tree on the far left. The fact that I cannot see the next one along should not be a barrier to solving this problem. If you know what I mean

Marty Marty Marty You made the mistake of changing your mind the first time......... it was [glow=red,2,300]STAMFORD BROOK[/glow]I was being very mean I know... cause you technically changed your mind.... but you did get it right first time.... so well done..... and the mistake I made was in not changing the name of the source image that SETH spotted Now how about this one...... WHAT is this & HOW/WHY IS IT UNIQUE.......

Is it that the Q stock per chance.... Marty Hammersmith depot don't turn out trains that badly, think about all those lost points for Metronet Its not the type of stock that's unique..... a bit cryptic this one I must admit..... the historians may have a better chance...... the photo comes from a surviving car..... and no its not Q stock Come on.... I'm giving you so may clues here!!!! ;D ;D Another clue...... in the photo there is a line.......

Now how about this one...... WHAT is this & HOW/WHY IS IT UNIQUE....... Looks like the lowermost bit of the side of a flared-sided (e.g. CO/CP) vehicle. Not sure why it should be regarded as unique. Russ

Just a SWAG... Given the painted line, I'd guess it's just behind the nearside Operator's sliding door. Could it be related to CSDE detection or automated stopping mark detection? If so, it would be the stock used to test that aparatus? /Jimi (thumbing throug his stock reference books...)

Russ Correct this is a CO/CP car...... and was a celebrated car....... the line does indicate something (its about two thirds of the way along the unit)...... look at the photo again

Dear oh dear oh dear...... this quiz is getting on for a day old now...... Here's the photo again There is a line painted on a plate - that's the WHAT part of the quiz - the line wasn't painted there until the car was preserved....... now ask yourself why is the plate there and what the line represents and if you know the answer, you'll know HOW this car is unique!!!!

Well its a closer suggestions than saying its discusting C stock livery (see previous page) ;D ;D ;D ;D Just ask yourself how many CO-CP stock units are left, where they are..... that should narrow it down a bit

Allright... (tries to put on a stern face...)
it is a new technique to tell blind shunters what is a preserved unit and what isn´t.

It is CP car No. 54233 which was rebuilt from two others (P. stock' car No. 14233 and 'Q38' car No. 013167) damaged by enemy action during WW2. www.brc-stockbook.co.uk/CPCar.HTM

Allright... (tries to put on a stern face...) it is a new technique to tell blind shunters what is a preserved unit and what isn´t. To my knowledge (& please correct me if I'm wrong) there's only 4 cars of CO/CP stock surviving, 3 of which are DM's. One is in Walthamstow (its not this one) and the other three cars are together....... somewhere coupled together....... its one of these that was very much celebrated...... during the war....... and the plate on the 'Sole bar' with the white line represents something!!!! OOPS said too much!!!!!!
