You beat me to it! Ran as T746, and was turned via Amersham and Watford. Full route Neasden-Amersham-Watford-Harrow-Ruislip siding-Ealing Common depot. Why Amersham and Watford? Even if it had to be turned no need to send it past Ricky. Availability of paths? Turning a train at Ricky can quickly cause delays and blocking back; there is more space available at Amersham. Likewise, why run to Ruislip siding instead of turning in the platform at Rayners. Everything happens for a reason.

I suppose the real question is whether they are headed for Booths or RAF Spadeadam (per the rumour). Ah well, they did well and it is over 57 years since the first one rolled on to LU metals, which is good going for anything really (in service or not).

MOD no longer want them so its a trip to Booths for them. Parts are being collected by various parties for further use on various other trains and of course the museum. The A stock took its path as a bit of a farewell Tour. Detonators were laid to finish its run.

With a four car train you could do a very quick platform reverse from either platform, litrally just the time needed to walk from one end rto the other and open up.

Yesterday, a sad day summed up by the weather. I think it will regretted in time that one set was not retained for heritage use. Costs and new technology I feel sure could have resolved. An important piece of 'Metroland' passes into history.

An important piece of 'Metroland' passes into history. As already insinuated, parts may appear in future heritage use... Space in depots and finances have played their part with this eventuality....

A couple of 3 + 2 seating bays would be nice - and represent more (in preservation) than the F stock and the Cammel Laird tube stock which also had oval end windows.
If they want I'd happily donate some sound or even video footage to the LT Museum to show the trains in action. A film of a ride or something that can be looped endlessly.

Saw it leave Neasden depot today. From afar it looks like there is only one or two more carriages left in the depot.

All four cars 5234-6234-6235-5235 have left by road. That now concludes the A stock. š
