Was at Liverpool Street this afternoon, after returning the scenic way from Walthamstow. Go through the barriers and head down towards my 'home ground' line. About two steps onto the escalator, a 'chav' decides it would be a good idea to slide down the metal dividing the up and down escalator. Unfortunately, the emergency stop buttons are mounted on a pole at 'just the right height' for engagement of the male anatomy... Lets just say a few passengers,, er, not including myself btw ;D had a good giggle...

I've heard rumours of people doing this before, apparently someone (who had a few drinks...) decided to do it for a bit of fun and ended smashing his head open when he came into contact with the ground.
As for the Emergency Plungers and Male anatomy - I bet that chav was in some right ball hooks when he got to the ground!! ;D ;D

I didn't stay around to find out. When I went past him, whilst using the escalator in the manner it was supposed to be used, I just laughed. Iwonder what his girl said when he got home...

Anyone who trys that on the escalators at Monument on the Tyne and Wear Metro won't be having children any time soon - there are rows of painful looking spikes at regular intervals. (But you might call it natural selection )

I've heard of people breaking their pelvis from emergency stop diamonds before now. I don't think the individual lived to tell the tale either...

My uncle owns a old railway yard and when I was 12, I took a skateboard up to the top of the freight car and with it being a curved roof jump off it on the skateboard.
With my cousin watching I did it.
And let me tell you. It was a very nasty landing. I bruised 3 bones in my foot, couldn't walk for 4 days and to top it off, there was glass on the floor.
So yes, ouch.
