Did something happen earlier today at around 11AM? I was travelling from Southfields to West Brompton. A westbound train at SFS remained at the platform for quite some time, however no delays reported. Same thing at East Putney.
Slightly later in the day when coming back, an eastbound train went through Notting Hill Gate out of service, in addition to an Ealing Broadway bound train then arriving on the westbound. I then saw another train out of service enter HSK platform 3. Still no delays reported on the District line. Some more diversions at ECT too I believe.

There are a couple of empty stock moves that run when required between Ealing Common and Neasden Via Edgware Rd and Moorgate that is probably the empty out of service trains plus trains on the Wimbledon branch are being held at certain times of the day because of Southwest trains using the lines between East Putney and Wimbledon plus there are scheduled trains early morning E Common-Edgware Rd & Late evening Edgware Rd-Ealing Broadway plus a couple of peak moves to get stock to from depot

Maybe there are more SWT (South West Trains) moves than normal due to the Waterloo engineering works?

Maybe there are more SWT (South West Trains) moves than normal due to the Waterloo engineering works? Correct. A number of additional trains being diverted via East Putney during the peaks. The easiest way to reach the main lines from the Windsor lines.
