Can anyone throw any light onto the origins of the following picture, I got sent it the other day from a friend, supposedly it came from Notting Hill Gate. Was an SA bored? Or is it a fake?

Looks like someone is taking the mick out of the current situation and police and publics reaction. Not badly, but expressing that matters have got out of hand.

I've been sent that from (I think) three other sources, all said that the place of origin was the same - i.e. Notting Hill Gate.
One theory I heard was that it was actually done as a bit of a joke outside traffic hours, photographed and distributed amongst a few selected people, but *somehow* has reached a wider audience.
I have to say that sounds quite feasible to me.

When coming through Paddington from the mainlines once, I noticed the signs which descibe the service status; for all lines it said either suspended or cancelled. But, someone else had scribbled below - Normal service as usual...
