Golders Green area again? Or somewhere different?

He he he I have never seen this photograph, but I think I recognise the tree between the running tracks and the siding - although I am pretty certain that is not there anymore. I think that I can positively say that this is somewhere other than Golders Green - but on the black line.

It's not the Barnet branch, for sure - given the change in track centres to the lower left hand corner of the picture, I'm inclined to say that it is either Burnt Oak or Hendon Central.

Looks like Edgware to me. The line on the extreme right, could be todays 17 road.

Yes, Alex it's Morden!! Well Done!! Thanks Phil!!! The buildings in the background look familiar (as I think they're still there) and the dip in the line as it goes under the station building looked familiar too.

As soon as you said Morden DT I recognised those contours straight away. Come out from there many times both on foot and by train.

The 'structure' at the end of the right hand siding looks somewhat like the lifting gear used to lift the New Rolling stock bodies from the road trailer onto their Rail Bogies. A recent aerial photo of Morden Depot on this site showed some sidings occupied by recently delivered new stock before the sidings were connected to the station.

I have a close-up photograph of the area that you are discussing, although it does not show the 'structure' that you are questioning. As far as I can work out, the photo that I am looking at was taken some time after the 'quiz' photo. As my photo is not part of a quiz, I will be posting it shortly in the Historical section under 'Early shot at Morden depot', where you may wish to continue this discussion. The photo also includes one rather surprising item of rolling stock.
