When travelling home from Stratford recently I've noticed that each platform served by TfL Rail has been fitted with a black and green cable just below the edge of the platform coping stones. Does anyone know what this is for?
Thanks in anticipation.

I've noticed a green cable spreading along most of Network Rail, I've been told it's a fibre cable, not sure what for though!

Leaky feeder cable for the new trains. Signals escape from it.
The on board screens in the cab need it to communicate with the mass of new cameras on the platforms at the stations out to Shenfield.
First new train in service from May so systems are up and running.

Thanks for the information. The cameras are certainly numerous as well as being suspended from unusually substantial fixtures.

Thanks for the information. The cameras are certainly numerous as well as being suspended from unusually substantial fixtures. Cameras are on scaffolding where there are cameras hung from canopies - did somebody forget to design for these? Maryland platform 4 has a cantilevered pair of cameras.
