Will these changes affect the early morning Picc reversers into and out of West Kensington?

Will these changes affect the early morning Picc reversers into and out of West Kensington? Those have not run for several years, (WTT27 28 October 1991) they had already stopped before the last nail in the coffin was the uplift of SSL voltage to 750v DC beyond Barons Court.

What is the reason that district line trains de-train at Hammersmith during the closure when they can clearly run further on to West Kensington? Surely run in service to West Kensington and start the service west from there?

Surely run in service to West Kensington and start the service west from there? Staff are available at Hammersmith to detrain the passengers, whereas very few or none are available at West Kensington. You can’t start a westbound service from the eastbound platform at West Kensington, the platform berth is too short.

And guessing Barons court eastbound would be the same issue re detraining? However, nothing to stop WB trains making a first stop at Barons Court?

Passenger communications are a lot simpler if you just say the line is suspended west of Hammersmith rather than trying to explain that trains terminate at Hammersmith but Barons Court is open for eastbound passengers only.

Very true, although I didn't mention that the stop at Barons Court would be "Advertised" ;-)
On saying that, for a passenger starting a journey at Barons Court, I see no reason not to stop them there, especially if the next picaddily line train does not make it in time to Hammersmith for a connection!

Barons Court isn’t routinely used as an interchange between lines because the platforms are quite narrow.
That’s why it’s not shown on maps as an interchange station.

Barons Court isn’t routinely used as an interchange between lines because the platforms are quite narrow. That’s why it’s not shown on maps as an interchange station. I always wondered why it was not also listed as an interchange station between Piccaddily and District. Perversely I suspect passengers would normally welcome the idea of a shorter distance when changing trains. Whilst I have not dragged out a tape measure, I suspect the Barons Court platforms are not much narrower than the platforms at Finchley Road where vast numbers of passengers interchange daily between the Met and Jubilee. Certainly after checking the few photos available online the Finchley Road platforms do not appear significantly wider despite being identified as an interchange station on the tube map. Meanwhile if you do decide to change lines at Barons Court you may also have time to discover just how uncomfortable those high back benches really are.

Well I've been using Barons Court to interchange for the past 35 years !
First because I tend to avoid the combination of (deep level tubes) + (very busy interchange stations) + (very busy trains) - so Luton to Heathrow airport , that I had to do 1-2 time a month in late 80s and early 90s, before HEx, my route is NOT Thameslink to Piccadilly at Kings Cross (which hits all 3 points) but Thameslink to Blackfriars, thence District, to Barons Court.
For completely different reasons I often do it now. I now work in Hammersmith. The most comfortable (but not the fastest) commute route is via Blackfriars. And of late, covid19, IME District has been far more reliable than Picc, and, S stock greater distancing than 73TS.
As I find w\b District trains can sit at Barons Court 2-3 or more minutes waiting correct time and\or regulated, I often hop to a Picc there. Those also can wait too, but IME not as long, but often a minute or so side by side on red signals. I'll miss those red lights once the District goes CBTC there!
I can't see platform width, well w\b anyway, is much of an issue there, as others have pointed out, it must be a pedanticly small quantity of millimetres if it is a problem when compared to Finchley Road.

Finchley Road's platforms are significantly wider than Barons Court's, particularly near to the stairs. There is sufficient space at Finchley Road for a waiting room on each platform, for starters!
At Barons Court the platforms are little wider than the stairs and are narrow throughout their length unlike at Finchley Road which taper at the northern end.
Now back to the topic at hand, please...

ATC west of Barons Court is de-scoped for the time being so the visible WB starter signal will remain. And even if ATC was implemented, then the white 'ready to depart' lights on each car are a good indication equivalent to 'starter's just gone green'.

Pretty sure the extension to Stamford Brook is some time later than basic SMA5 which completes the Circle and out to Barons Court / Fulham Broadway though.

Parsons Green yard area, or as far as the National Rail interface at Putney Bridge / East Putney?

I can see the point in resignalling Parsons Green, a very old area, and so closing the last desk at Earl's Court. What is the case for extending a few stations west from Barons Court?

What is the proper reason for all these weekend shutdowns of the District Line ? A few people say its to do with Cross Rail at Whitechapel 29-31 May track works at South Kensington, High Street Kensington and Wimbledon, rail grinding between Victoria and Tower Hill, drainage works at West Kensington and Crossrail works at Whitechapel 5-6 June track renewal work at Barking Sidings, Transplant Train Operator training between South Kensington and Whitechapel and Network Rail track renewal between Plaistow and East Ham 12-13 19-20 June, 3-4 July Crossrail work at Whitechapel, Network Rail engineering work between Plaistow and East Ham 26-27 June, 10 July Network Rail track renewals between Plaistow and East Ham and track works at Mile End 11 July track works Ealing Common depot 17-18 July 4LM Signalling system testing Whitechapel-Upminster (SMA06/07)

5-6 June track renewal work at Barking Sidings, Transplant Train Operator training between South Kensington and Whitechapel and Network Rail track renewal between Plaistow and East Ham Why do engineering train drivers need training between South Kensington and Whitechapel, ? Could this be linked to it being a CBTC area? Alternately it could just be a case of general training without disrupting daytime passenger operation or impinging on nocturnal maintenance hours. I imagine passengers would be up in arms if their commute was delayed by a tamper practicing stopping/starting during peak hours.

Extending CBTC westward to Stamford Brook is a pragmatic way to recover sunk costs reflecting the advanced stage of works SMA 10 had reached prior to the descope decision being made. It eliminates as many legacy signalling assets as practically possible at this time whilst benefitting from reduced maintenance, renewal and obsolescence costs by fitting pure CBTC.

Why do engineering train drivers need training between South Kensington and Whitechapel, ? Could this be linked to it being a CBTC area? Exactly that. The engineers train driver’s are not yet fully up to speed on CBTC as evidenced by a couple of recent shutdowns where they’ve arrived at a CBTC boundary and apparently had no knowledge of how to proceed.
