I'll chuck Finsbury Park in for C as I know there's work going on there.

You have Locations A, B and D and the inset in A. Still to get are C, the link and the odd one out. There is no clue version available for C but the notice shown is not related to ongoing work. Location A: Hoxton - Geffrye St entrance [Chris M] (click for a larger version) Inset A: Bolton Abbey, Yorkshire [Chris M] (click for a larger version) Location B: Vauxhall - passage from ticket hall to lift to platforms [Chris M] [Chris M] (click for a larger version) Location D: Notting Hll Gate - tiled floor on 1 April 2016 [ humbug] (click for a larger version)

So what is the link between Hoxton, Vauxhall, Elephant & Castle and Notting Hill Gate, and which location is the 5th in the set?

The link is that they are all boundary stations in zones 1 and 2.
If that is correct, then Earl's Court is also a 1/2 boundary station.
