Sorry another question from me! I am contemplating a Met/Widened Line layout and was wondering what the traffic in the vicinity of Moorgate St. would be pre 1939? I am assuming most freight peeled off at Farringdon which prompted this question..
Regards, Josh

There may have been a bit of freight through to the ELL via Aldgate East and St.Mary's Junction. From memory the last goods depots on the Widened Lines were at Farringdon. Otherwise it was passenger traffic, probably rush hours only beyond Farringdon.

I'd recommend getting Metropolitan Railway Rolling Stock by James Snowden. It will be very useful for the period you are modelling.
You'd better learn to paint teak as there was lots of it kicking around!
From my experience for a MET point of view you can use MW (T stock), Dreadnoughts, Bogie stock and 1904-1921 Saloon stock.

Thanks for that sorry for the late reply. I have plenty of teak skills from my LNER layout at 'Cemetery' box! Shall look out for that. This may end up becoming Rickmansworth to avoid most of the A5's.
