Place: Between Deptford Road/Surrey Docks/Surrey Quays (depending on the year taken) and the Junction to New Cross/Gate, the unelectrified line to the left was the 'up' line off the LBSER. (closed in 1964)

Circumstances: Don't know

Bearing in mind Chris J's age, I gather he must have the same source of information as I have, i.e. a mutual friend. Otherwise, for his age, he outdoes even Harsig. 1961 railtour Stanmore to New Cross Gate The cupboard is bare folks. That's all. No more. End of story. Mutual friend ?? If it isn't Q8, the mind boggles!!

Bearing in mind Chris J's age, I gather he must have the same source of information as I have, i.e. a mutual friend. Otherwise, for his age, he outdoes even Harsig. I firstly noticed the bridge in the background, then the connection from the LBSER (which is still visible as you go past the location on an ELL service today), which I used to back up my guess of the photos location, I then used the 'East London & District' DVD by Video125 to gather the info about the area (the dates, ect) The previous photo’s I knew off by heart, I have quite a geographic memory and I’m quite good at remembering how an area looks, which I used to figure out the Burnt Oak photo, I know the tracks curve just north of the station towards Edgware, that's what sussed it out for me. Mutual friend ?? If it isn't Q8, the mind boggles!! Q8 hasn't helped me find the location of any the photos posted by Phil, it's all been done by myself. This is what lots of riding on the tube and a good memory does. I highly doubt I can outdo Harsig, though!

RE Burnt Oak, I knew it had to be an intermediate station between Golders & Edgware, the curve to the right, north of the station gave it away.
