Hi all,
I'm coming to London with my family on 10th April, flying home again on 19th, and wondering if there are any train/underground related events on during that period.
And if any what train/underground related museums, collections, stations, railways you would recommend...I will have a car so Home Counties is okay too.
Is there an events calendar anywhere that I can look at?

You've timed that well in fact: though you'll miss the Acton weekend, the 22/23rd is also FA Cup semi-final weekend & they are both played at Wembley, one Saturday & one Sunday, so that's one Tube overload factor you can dip out on.
The weekends you are here, there's only one Premiership game involving a London derby-Crystal Palace v Tottenham & Selhurst Park isn't on the Tubes, either.

I'm going to the QPR v Sheffield game on the BH Monday. QPR has been my team since the very first football match I ever went to which was at QPR in 71 or 72. I grew up less than two miles from Loftus Road. And I'm going to take my sons to see both Wembley and the new West Ham ground.

The first game I went to was against Notts County, played at White City. I was also there when they won the League Cup at Wembley (3-2 v West Brom) and I went to most home games the season they were runners-up in the First Division. I was born in Hammersmith Hospital, Du Cane Road, lived in East Acton, and went to school at St. Clement Danes, again Du Cane Road. I suppose it was pre-ordained as my mother was born in 2 Loftus Road.

As I've said before on here, a trip to Highbury in March 1956 at the age of 4 & I fell in love with Man. Utd. Certainly been to QPR a few times, including games involving other visiting side, so feel qualified to join in any debate about the relative merits of Rodney Marsh or Stan Bowles as the 'Hoops best player ever. Unfortunately, it doesn't have a lot to do with the Tube, unless there's anyone served QPR whose Dad, like Greavsie, worked on LUL, so probably best not have it here!! Presuming, btw, countryman, that would have been season 1962/3 you saw them at White City?

Yea, lets not derail the thread with football...but just one last thing on QPR....they still hold the record for the most home grounds before settling at their current ground.
