Would anyone be willing to help me with this list I've been making, by correcting any errors, providing missing dates of closures and filling the gaps that exist? Thanks
The focus is purely on creating a simple list of the names and dates of railway companies, both defunct and still operating, in and around London and the Home Counties, including the UndergrounD Railways. The focus is not on the services offered, stations,extensions, ownerships etc.
I'm trying to make the list as complete as possible with all the railway companies of standard gauge that operated in and around London, and further afield, as long as they had trains running into and out of London, and all the various names that any given company may have had. I'm only interested in railway companies that used trains, earlier horse-drawn plateways are not of interest thank you.
Bracketed dates refer to future events on the list.

1898 L&SWR opens the Waterloo & City Line, “The Drain”.
1900 Central London Railway (CLR) opens.
1906 Great Northern, Piccadilly and Brompton Railway (GNP&BR) opens. But right from the beginning passengers referred to it as the Piccadilly Railway. The GNP&BR was formed through a merger of two older companies that never built their railways: the 1896 established Brompton and Piccadilly Circus Railway Co. (B&PCR) and the 1898 established Great Northern and Strand Railway Co. (GN&SR) along with parts of the District Railway.
1906 Baker Street & Waterloo Railway opens. The official name was quickly changed to the popular name the Bakerloo.
1913 Great Northern & City Railway bought by the Metropolitan.
1917 Ealing & Shepherd’s Bush Railway (E&SBR) constructed by the GWR, opened as a steam-hauled freight only line in 1917. (>1920)
1920 Electrification of E&SBR and start of CLR services postponed until after WWI, eventually starting in August 1920.
1920s Merger of the C&SLR and the CCE&HR - Morden-Edgware Line (>1937)
1933 The ELR becomes part of LT, and is renamed the East London Branch of the Metropolitan Railway. (> 1970)
1937 The Morden-Edgware Line is now renamed the Northern Line
1938 CLR renamed Central Railway, due to plans to extend the line beyond the old County of London.
1949 The Circle Line becomes a line in its own right
1968 Victoria Line opens
1970 The East London Branch is renamed: Metropolitan Line – East London Section. (>1980s)
1977 Jubilee Line opens (1965 planning originally has it to be called the Fleet Line)
1980s The East London Line finally becomes its own entity.
1987 Docklands Light Railway (DLR) opens its first section. Many and continuing extensions over the years
1990 Hammersmith & City Line becomes a line in its own right
