That's what I thought until I saw the 'Metropolitan' bit on the destination board. Looking at other pictures on google I'd be inclined to agree with Jim.

It was not as easy as you think Phil, I am presuming the pic. you used was from Steam to Silver, the only info given, 'A 5-car 'P' stock on Circle service' South Ken was not mentioned, I had to find that bit out myself!! BTW I can't give the exact date, only to say it must be somewhere between 1947 & 1956.

Wow! word for word, that is amazing as I have no knowledge of that book whatsoever. I found out it was South Ken. from a pic of a Met 1921 stock train in exactly the same position as the P stock in Steam to Silver. The book is titled The London Underground Surface Stock Plan book 1863-1959. Author, Ian Huntley, 1988.

So far it's no, no and no. Jim, you should have an advantage over the others....... "Should have" but unfortunatly couldn't get it . I assumed it was Barbican and the shunt signal was to the disused siding. I see it as the disused platform at South Ken now though.
