Ok, the older members on here will probably know where this is; the members below the age of 35 may not. So, where is this, and where has the train come from? Please note, this is scanned from a slide in my collection, I have the permission of the photographer to use it here

I reckon it's Barbican & the train has come from Moorgate. I've seen a photo of a 31 at Moorgate but I can't remember what it was doing there.

Now I was going to say Barbican or Farringdon.... and that the 31 had come from Moorgate. But I think given the clue that members under 35 may not know I guess that the train may have come from Broad Street (almost certainly wrong)...

Indeed it is Farringdon, the train is an ex-Moorgate ecs.
I knew it was too easy.

Trains from the Hertford loop were loco-hauled in the peaks, they ran to Moorgate via Kings Cross (York Road) onto the widened lines. Non-corridor compartment stock was used.
