Come on! Own up! What fears do you have? ;D Here's a couple of mine: The Dark - I'm terrified of being in an enclosed, quiet room in the dark, my mind plays tricks on me and I usually find myself hiding under the covers (done it ever since I was a child) when I'm in Bed. I'm okay if I'm with somebody or I'm out in the open, I'm totally fine in large dark places such as a tunnel. Bees/Wasps - Hate the buggers, the sight, sound and general presence of them sends me mad! I especially hate it when the f*cking things seem to want to follow you and not leave you alone.

Me? Terrified of height as well. Result of vertigo. What else? Bloody Reptiles or anything cold blooded.

I used to have a fear of foriegn motorways and foreign cities and stuff like that. Not so much now. Used to have a fear of LU. I thought anyone who worked on it was indimidating. Was quite a few years ago though.

Fear of Heights, or falling?
I hate heights, but if I'm strapped in (say in a cherry picker) I have no problem at all. Likewise at the top of a tall tower enclosed by glass.
They say most fear of heights is really fear of falling: it's different.

Worms, Slugs, Snails, Snakes - anything of that nature. Though i'm getting there with the worms on account of my new hobby of fishing - well, with the aid of a pair of pliers anyway ;D

I may have mentioned this before but I am terrified of bees and wasps! I have people I work with laughing because I look like I'm doing some sort of tribal dance to try and get away from one of these nasty little things!
I also hate spiders. Small ones are ok, but some of the ones we get around here are bloody huge!!

I could add wasps, but I'm not scared of them but allergic to the stings. Last time I nearly passed out, but I'm told that, because the allergy gets worse every time, if I don't get adrenalin within 20 mins of the next sting , that could be it - anaphylactic shock - curtains .
But at least you have some control, unlike with heights, so I'm actually worse with heights than wasps.

I don't mind heights if I'm behind a window, or securely behind a bar, but you wouldn't see me walking along the top of a cliff sans fence .

A Bee or Wasp will generally leave you alone unless you have sometging sweet like a lolly or something. Also if you start waving your hands about like a demented windmill it WILL attack you as it thinks you are attacking IT.
So leave it to buzz around and even land on you. Once it is satisfied you are not a flower it wiil push off. Open a window and it will leave.

Me, I don't mind heights, Not too keen on wasps buzzing around.. come to that, I swattted a HUGE wasp on Sunday night. It was busy buzzing round the flourescent tube I have in the kitchen. When it landed on the window ledge, a quick burst with the spray, down it went trying to sting itself on the carpet. Cup placed over it, sounded like a Spitfire roaring across the sky... Ten mintues later, all was silent, so it ended up being sucked into the hoover! Yes, I'm cruel, but I've done worse to pidgeons... 100kph train meets small flying bird flying other way....

Jellyfish (even the non-stinging ones) and wasps/insects that buzz around my head. Unlike most people I don't (normally) end up waving like a madman when there is a wasp about but freeze instead.
I'm not too keen on heights where what is stopping me falling is my own balance - as saying it is poor is an understatement.

It's height that gets me. And it aint just fear of falling!
Don't mind wasps as long as they don't hang around, and bees are no problem.

It's wasps for me! Black and yellow bastards fill me with fear. I was stung in the mouth by one when I was a kid. A couple of years ago we had a nest behind the soffit board, I wouldn't even go in the garden until the pest control man had killed them (how do they do that job?) Was fun watching them die from behinnd my closed bedroom window with a cold beer in my hand.
Wasp + Bus Cab (enclosed) = panic!

I'm scared of injections/blood tests and anything to do with needles and also I'd never fly anywhere. Also after Wednesday evening I wouldn't want to meet Justin Whittle in a dark alley.

Leicestershire County Council school contract number boards make an excellent wasp termination device :-)
I also once lobbed a running card out the window by accident whilst trying to swat a wasp with it ;D

Aaahhh! Now that is bloody cruel and inhumane. If you MUST kill the creature at least give it a quick death.

Lifts... I refused to go in any lift, I take the stairs on any LU station without an escalator! Also heights, I fear falling from a high distance.

Apart from the health and wellbeing of my family and I (Which I thnk everyone worries about), the thing that makes my hair stand on end is canals. Don't mind rivers or sea, but canals, especially through industrial areas. That area around Bromley - By - Bow with all those old industrial waterways would be my version of hell. I think all this stems from the fact I can't swim very well. I particularly hate locks - they are bloody dangerous. I've actually been in a narrow boat while it's been in a lock and those high, slimy walls inside it - horrible. On the same day the only way to get across the canal to the pub on the other side was acually over the lock gates - it's fun when there's only a handrail on one side and you swap hands in the middle. Won't be doing that again in a hurry.
