Got my first 345 this morning, 008 formed the 08:12 from Ilford to Liv St. I normally get the 08:14 as the 08:12 is normally packed and not everyone gets on and this doesn't happen on the 08:14 but when I saw it say 'Formed of 7 coaches' I knew I had to get on it but even though it was busy it cleared the platforms at Ilford and Forest Gate (fast train) and I loved how cool it was (temperature wise). I noticed two in service this morning.... 008 had just left Liverpool Street returning east as my train arrived....
I didn't manage to see the unit number of the other....

Apologies for the double post.
Am currently on 345 009, which left Liv St on the 16:50 service. It's the first time I've sat in one and flippin heck, the seats are hard. I've also noticed that there are no luggage racks, with space below seats for bags. This also gives space for adverts above the windows, increasing/maximising commercial income for TfL.The windows are also tinted to reduce sunlight glare.
Announcements from the driver manage to cut through headphones far better than on the 315's. I have noted that you can feel every imperfection in the track when compared to the units they replace.
I am impressed though, however a horse and cart would almost be better than the 315s.... Okay I exaggerate, but you get my point 😜

From May next year 345s will run from Paddington Main Line station which is already wired for Heathrow Express and Connect services. Some GWR are also running with Class 387s. I think the inference to "no wires up", was regarding Old Oak Common (Elizabeth Line) depot, where the 345s would run from. (378s use West Ealing or Maidenhead) Yes, that is what I meant.

I have a feeling there will be an uplift in 345s in passenger service from Monday morning. Quite early as well.

I have a feeling there will be an uplift in 345s in passenger service from Monday morning. Quite early as well. A day or so ago I saw on a railgen website that starting from 18th September 2017 there will be two Class 345 trains in full passenger service. If I get to see a timetable for the second train I'll share the info. Certainly it will go on the traininfo.htm page on my website, if it is acceptable to the moderators I will also share it here. First however, I need to see the timetable made available in the public domain. This is not something that I can do. Simon

I think I caught sight of unit 345 011 this morning for the first time, so more are arriving...

I believe there should be 5 trains now. 3 were in Ilford depot this morning so two should have been on the road.

I haven't seen 345 002 or 003 for a while now.
As far as I'm aware as I travel up and down the line semi-regularly 005-011 have been delivered so far.
I've traveled in 005 (press trip) and 009 last week.

There were 4 in service in the evening peak. Only three at the moment, the fourth is a standby set that sits at Gas Factory Junction on the LTS during the evening peak.

Well there were two in service at Liverpool Street side by side at around 4.35pm. I was on one of those and I saw 2 more heading into Liverpool Street by the time I'd got to Ilford.

And on an a.m.peak journey to Chelmsford yesterday, I think I saw six, with possibly another lurking in the back of Ilford

Mel (my wife) travelled on a cl 345 for the first time this evening.
Her through were that it is indeed more open, with space for more people to stand, but she noted the lack of posts for those standing to hold onto. I mentioned the grab handles, but she still wasn't convinced around the doorway areas.
And yes, she found the seats hard, much like the S stock.

I think they are harder than the S stock seats, although they don't feel that uncomfortable. I think the seats on 95, 96 stock and class 378 are more uncomfortable.

On my only current journey on one I was by the door no-where near a pole or handle and as it was packed I was unable to move elsewhere, luckily I was under the pantograph where the ceiling is lower and given that I'm 5' 11" I was able to push my hand against the ceiling for support.

At least 7 or 8 in evidence today. 009 looking pristine coming through Stratford on the up at about 1445, with techhie in orange jump suit immediately behind the driver's compartment. Is this the train that proceeds to Bow Rd? 6 other units around Ilford/Shenfield

I've now made the 08:11 from Ilford my everyday train now so that I can get the CL345 although had a bit of a scare this morning as they've now stopped displaying and announcing 'formed of 7 coaches' for CL345 trains.
Also my train this morning (008) made a sudden emergency stop from a decent speed and it came to a stop with half of the train in the platform at Manor Park (this service does not call at Manor Park), the driver announced that there was a fault with the train and that we'd be on the move once it has been resolved. We moved off after about 2 minutes of being stationary.
Update 28/09: They have gone back to displaying and announcing 7 coaches.
