I've recently got into sea fishing (wish i'd tried years ago), and was wondering if anyone else has other interests other than the railways?

Oh yes I do have another passion. But I ain't telling you lot what it is. ;D Seriously though, I like music of all types except Opera. I collect feature films from the past. I have now taken up the excersise bike on a regular basis. Also I love TRAMS. The proper sort with an upstairs and downstairs. The sort none of you will remember. The types that used to bang and clang and rock 'n' roll along the middle of the street. Not these modern misnomers

I have other interests, though everything has taken a backseat since my twins were born They are Buses (I own a 1970 Leyland Atlantean, currently 'resting'), any form of mechanical engineering, photography (including developing and printing my own stuff), music of many different types, especially early synthesiser music such as 'Switched on Bach' etc and old films including 'information films', by BTF and GPO film unit. Phew - sounds like loads - now all I need is the time to do them again

I've got LOADS more interests hen railways. In-fact, railways is quite down far my list! Sports for a start - Football, rugby, tennis, golf, snooker, darts, badminton (which I'm VERY good at!) and cricket (no, not just because England won the ashes! : Music, loads of 80's stuff, a few bits of 90's stuff and very few bits from today. Rap what a load of rubbish! Technology, e.g. Computers, games consoles, mobile phones, MP3 players etc I have a cute little black kitten called Jessie. Used to be called Jezebel but we changed it. Some of you more knowledgeable members will know why! ;D FOOD! I can cook! Anyone want a Sunday roast? PM me. ;D Probably more but I can't be bothered ;D

History and archaeology, although I've not done any of the latter. Photography - the artisitc side of taking the photographs mainly. I never found the developing very interesting, so digital photography suits me down to the ground. Transport, particularly public transport, but not exclusively. Give me the remit and a large enough pot of money and I'd sort out this country for you no problems The main principal would be that you can't have too much transport and redundancy is good (so that when something goes wrong on one route, there is another able to be used as a backup).

For my sins I'm a rower, but mainly to keep fit and get invites to the dinners. I try to avoid too many early mornings.
In the other bit of spare time I have left, I'm also a canoeist. I seem to have a slightly irrational fear of water, which is causing a few issues, but I'm getting over it gradually Usually the problem is doing something new for the first time. After that I'm fine.
Suprisingly, I'm also in several computer related societies.

My other interests (other than transport) include: - History. Particularly transport history and local (to the NE) history; - Football, although just watching these days! I used to be a good goalie in my younger days! - Snooker, although I'm a bit out of practise these days; - F1 motor racing (shame this years season has just ended!); - Music, all sorts of music from Classical to some of the modern stuff; - Gadgets! Any sort of gadget can keep me amused for hours! - Films and TV, particularly comedy and particularly The Simpsons!
Probably loads more, but they're the main ones!

Other than Railways I take a small interest in Buses. I follow football but not as much these days due to work and my other big time passion, speedway racing.
