My retweet includes part of a train that dates from 1905 when the District Line was converted from steam to electric traction.

That looks like District 'B' stock, my favourite MDR Electrics. We need to re-create a rake of these. The cost per set could be reduced if we built a set of Tyneside 1904 stock alongside it!

Oh, full size. 12" to the foot. This is one of the projects I had in mind when the Amershams were being withdrawn. Much of the A stock running gear was simply a later development of the DC traction apparatus found on Yerkes-era stock. It could have been recovered for use in the project.
