Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone could explain the full role of the DOME (Duty Operations Manager Engineering) for me.
I know they deal with any engineering incidents, but could anyone expand on this........

From a operational point of view they are a go between from engineering to operations. They also co ordinate different departments on issues which would effect the operating railway.

and issue emergency hot works permits at night to allow essential work to proceed.
You have to go to him and make sure that you have everything in place on the form and in the van.
