I have difficulty in remembering the correct spelling of some words. 'definitely' being one of them and 'necessary' being another (I know them's right because I just looked them up) ChrisW quoted a rhyme to me about spelling the latter word. Something about sausages. Who else has a word they can never spell right?

Separate. (always have trouble with that)
If you remember that definitely refers to finite things that should fix it in your mind

I was taught to remember necessary with "A shirt is necessary, it has one collar and two shoulders". The word I always get wrong is Liscence (or is it License / Lisence / some other combination?). I managed to spell it all three ways in a single paragraph the other day The best numonic (sp!) I was taught was for triganometry - Sex On Holidays Can Affect Health To Old Age: SIN = Opposite & Hypotenuse; COS = Adjacent & Hypotenuse; TAN = Opposite & Adjacent. That I remember 10 years down the line, but I've completely forgotten what I'm actually meant to do with it (I never did completely 'get' trig), but the one time outside of a maths lesson I have ever had cause to use it was on an A-level geography field trip to calculate the angle of a stream. I never did completely 'get' trig I didn't even get taught it until after I'd left school. I cracked it for AC theory in Electrical Principles but never understood it for the purpose of practicing mathematics.

I usually have problems spelling Dictoniary. (yes, that’s how I spell it! ) So I'm stuck if I want to look something up correctly! ;D

Who else has a word they can never spell right? I quite often have trouble with words that are unnecessarily complicated - there you go, classic example. I use the spell check option quite often before posting, cos it me makes me look more cleverer innit ;D EDIT: the only word it said was wrong in this post was; innit !

I use the spell check option quite often before posting I always use spill choker before posting as it really helps to look smart ;D. However it, being American, doesn't like British spellings like "colour" etc. etc.
