Anybody have tranlations of the bullsh*t managers speak these days, here's some of mine.
1.Outsourceing:We've given your job to someone else do do cheaper to make us even more money.
2.Flexible and efficient workforce:Too scared of losing their jobs to complain.
3.We don't want to go back to the bad old days of the 70's:But the 30's,now you're talking!

Hmmm. When you report a problem on the network, Im rather annoyed at just how long it takes for the problem to be sorted out. If you report loose slabs on the platform, it's still there three weeks later. Then someone places that red and white tape across it, which lasts seconds. I once reported part of the station canopy was hanging down at Hainault. it was still hanging down two months later. Is it too much trouble to get a ladder and a few nails and bash it back??? I'll never forget the written comments on the wall in a staff toilet: Management Suck! Someone else had written that four lettered word describing the male appendage.

The way to get things done these days is to report it and state you have kept a copy in writing that, now it is reported, any Safety consequences should anything now go wrong are the PERSONAL responsibilty of the person receiving the report. Because of the current a*se covering culture it works every time.

I HATE the expression "Human Resources" It just shows that in managements eyes the staff are just another piece of equipment. "Personnel " is much better.

I thought management were known as penpushers...since thats all they seem to do these days. I was once offered a 'promotion' to an LSM. I rejected the offer, as I prefer the 'hands on' environment

I rejected the offer, as I prefer the 'hands on' environment No offense meant, but you are talking rubbish. These jobs are sought after and don't come up often as I believe there are only 9 LSMs on the combine. Line Standards Manager's are in charge of training and the quality of training on a line. Solidbond or Dave could possibly elaborate more on this. You wouldn't be offered an LSM job without applying along with many others. If you applied you would have seen on the application form the job title as Line Standards Manager, not Line Service Manager.

Am I the only manager grade who hardly ever uses management speak?
For me a simple "F**k off" does the trick, though it's hardly subtle.

Managers of Public Services(?) like LUL and Royal Mail love their TLAs!! In Defra the acronyms arent' restricted to three letters. My job title: RDA6 I have to deal with on a daily basis: AESIS - Agri-Environment Scheme Information System RADX - Regional Admin Data eXchange CST - Customer Services Team / Classic Schemes Team (two different teams that do different but related things have the same acronym!) BPD - Business Processing Division ELS - Entry Level Scheme OELS - Organic Entry Level Scheme HLS - Higher Level Stewardship ES - Environmental Stewardship ESA - Environmentally Sensitive Areas CSS - Coutnryside Stewardship Scheme FEP - Farm Environment Plan FER - Farm Environment Record BAP - Biodiversity Action Plan JCA - Joint Character Area EN - English Nature CA - Countryside Agency EA - Environment Agency WES - Wildlife Enhancement Scheme SDT - Somerset and Dorset Team SLM - Somerset Levels and Moors SDIT - Strategic Delivery and Implementation Team BSS - Buffer Strip Supplement FYM - Farm Yard Manure (i.e. cow brown stuff!) NPK - Nitrogen-Phosphate-Potash (a type of fertilizer, named for the chemical symbols for Nitrogen, Phosphorous and Potasium) Its a wonder I get to sepak any real words at times!

Oh, I LOVE the deliberate spelling mistake at the end of your post Chris Awkward!!! That's what comes from writing posts when you're basically asleep! Reading it again there are two errors in the last line of my post, what is the other one?

Or "arent'" (should be aren't, as the apostrophe replaces the letter 'o'). I also read on Tubeprune there used to be an LU grade of Assistant Rolling Stock Engineer .

The missing apostrophie in "Its" (or "it's") ? Indeed In the above list I forgot to include CPH - County-Parish-Holding (Number). Which is the unique identifier for each farm (although in reality its much more complicated than this!)
