Hi all and welcome to the Great LU Quiz. Below are 20 questions related to the London Underground. They vary in difficulty and place & time. For each correct question you get 1 point. Post all answers here. The person with the most points by 7pm (BST) on Saturday evening (20th August) can choose one music download, paid for by me, upto the value of £1.50 from www.mycokemusic.co.uk (ANY music, including the great 80's stuff ;D). The prize will be emailed to the winner. To win this prize, you MUST have a minimum of 4 points. In the event of a tie, a single question will be asked via PM and the first person to reply will win. All answers must be verified by me first before counting as 1 point. Please note that some aren't what they seem and you must look further down the line Here are the 20 questions: Question 1: Out of the 1995 and 1996 stock, which is wider? Question 2: Where was the Jubilee Line originally going to be extended to, besides Stratford? Question 3: Who owned the Waterloo & City line before London Underground took over? Question 4: What is the maximum speed the 1996 stock can do? Question 5: What was the first ever tube line? Question 6: Besides Morden and Golders Green where on the Northern line is the other depot? Question 7: Where do most Bakerloo line trains terminate when heading Northbound? Question 8: What occurs a lot (too much) on the Northern Line? Question 9: Before the Epping to Ongar branch closed, what were the names of the stations? Question 10: Besides the Piccadilly Line, what other line has express running? Question 11: Where does the Northern Line connect with the Piccadilly Line? Question 12: Where is the Victoria Line depot located? Question 13: Which station on the Central line do you have to change to get a West Ruislip bound train or an Ealing Broadway bound train? Question 14: Where do the Kensington Olympia trains terminate? Question 15: Where do most Cockfosters bound Piccadilly line trains terminate? Question 16: Before this line was named the Jubilee Line, what did it used to be called? Question 17: What 2 places did the derailments on the Central Line occur recently? Question 18: How many stations are on the East London Line? Question 19: What is the only Circle Line station that has its own platform? Question 20: Can southbound bank branch trains running to Morden terminate at Kennington and by what means do they do this? Enjoy and Good Luck ;D

2: Aldwych 3: British Rail 8. Delays 9. On that branch: Epping, Ongar. I can't be bothered to list all the stations on the network that were open between its opening and it colosing, suffice to say there were a fair few. 10. Metropolitan 11. Leicester Square, Kings Cross St Pancras 13. Anywhere between Leytonstone and North Acton (inlcusive) 14. Kensington Olympia and High Street Kensington 16. Fleet Line 18. 9 on the currently open parts, I don't know how many (if any) have been constructed/adpated/whatever for the extenions yet. 19. Gloucester Road 20. Yes they can. They terminate by stopping at the station and then using the reversing siding between the running tunnels to the south of the station.

On that note, I would like to congratulate ca55ie who got a fantastic 9/20. Well done ;D The entry for the prize is now closed but there are still some questions to be answered, so why not give it a try Thanks for playing, David (London Tube) ;D EDIT: I would like to add that ca55ie has asked that the money be donated to charity instead, which it will (probably the British Red Cross), with a bit extra on top ;D
