Steam of the Met was supposed to take place on September 10th and 11th this year. Heritage Stock that would have made an appearance this year was, 4-TC Set, Met No. 1, L150, Coach 353 and two Class 20 Diesels, one of which had been repainted in Metropolitan Colours for the event www.ltmuseum.co.uk/whats-on/events-calendar/heritage-vehicles-outingsObviously people will be dissapointed. Is there any more information as to why the event was cancelled. Details on the industrial dispute... If Industrial Action is suspended, it's likely that the event will still be called off because of the lack of time LTM and LU would have to reorganize the event.

Its cancelled for this year. They decided to cancel rather than fork out for the cost of steam loco transportation by road. It will definitely not be going on this year

I see, thanks. I suspect that costs for planning and resources etc.. are unrecoverable.

The problem as well is they need to give reasonable notice to customers who may be travelling a long distance.

I don't know who is on strike, but the reason for cancelling is directly down to the amount of cost and planning involved to possibly have to cancel at the last minute. There is a lot to do in order to comply with requirements set by the ORR

Anyway, it's a shame that the newly-painted Class 20 142 didn't get a chance to stretch its legs on the Met, but never mind. Class 20 142 West Ruislip BR linkClass 20 142 West Ruislip

20142 will be appearing at the Mid Norfolk Railway diesel gala next weekend instead of Steam on the Met www.mnr.org.uk/events/autumn-diesel-gala-2-2016-09-09/I assume Met 1 will either still be at Mid Norfolk Railway (not in use) or have moved to Quainton Road (unless it's going elsewhere before BRC's gala on 2nd October).

saw a class 20 loco on the back of an articulated flatbed today on the M25 near the M11 junction, thought the choo choo looked kinda familar then realised I saw it out of my signal cabin window in a different colour!
