Because it's 4:50am and I'm super-tired, I decided to pull up the ETA board for Canary Wharf... don't ask why.
A train apparently left North Greenwich, heading towards Canary Wharf, before 4:45am... it's still somewhere between stations now (4:51am), while the ETA board states "Due in 1 min".
Any ideas on this? System glitch? Very, very, very slow train? Train stopped in tunnel to look at the track/tunnel/etc? Tunnel cleaning?
[edit]
Just as an afterthought... there's also a Northern train between Central and East Finchley, destination of "Special", while the Jubilee train is "Not in Service"... at this time of the morning, is the destination set at the T/Op's discretion, or is is just a line difference? (This train also seems to be taking a long time to get between those two stations!)

The system is very good at watching what are normally trains during the day. However, during the night various track circuits may drop and show "occupied" for a number of reasons connected with maintenance. As they are not trains that have been signalled in the conventional sense, the system is not passed a train description, therefore all you see is the "default" description of "special" or "not in service." However, it could also have been an engineers train. We have those too. It's a myth that after the last train the system closes. To customers yes, but to staff it never sleeps. As for this system displaying train descriptions, this is taken from the signalling computers and not from the front of the trains themselves. It's all very clever, but was designed for those people looking in during daylight hours ;D

The normal route into Pl2 from Canning Town is OOC at the moment, staff trains are pulling into Pl1 then doing a main line shunt west of North Greenwich.
