Personally I think original is best, certainly in the shape of 1973 TS and 1972's

I voted for depending on stock.
Take a look at the C Stocks for example, before refurbishment they were not too bad Trains, after refurbishment they've just got worse in reliability and comfort - The seats are hard, they're slow, they jump as the Rheo Brake is used and the overall layout of the interior isn't the best in all honesty.
But on the other hand, the A stocks got better, the unfurb design (as much as I can possibly remember it from my younger days) was filthy and falling to bits but now after refurb they're great Trains, the refurb was simple - they done what was needed, Not all this fancy computerised stuff that other units got and also they managed to keep the soft bouncy seats.

That is because the the "superior" folk at Moor Park and beyond don't like "num bums"

The seats on C stock let down the re-furb of these trains, I feel that otherwise they gained a more modern appearence inside, making them less dingy.
The 73ts look good appart from the black window surrounds up front. They should have been all red - a la 67/72ts.
The A stock re-furb was the best, as has been said above, simple yet effective.

As a wise man once said "The person who designed the refurbished C stocks must have been a genius... It would take a genius to make a heap of junk even worse!" ;D
(It wasn't me who said that either, although he does post on this forum... ;D)

Notice how women are really just refurbished men! God (or whoever lets NOT go into that debate) had a practise run with men before finishing his final design!

God (or whoever lets NOT go into that debate) had a practise run with men before finishing his final design! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ I always thought it was because he had run out of nobbly bits for his second attempt. However he had a spare bum on the bench so he stuck it on the front and put holes in it.
