Tinted Windows

Does anyone know why the Central Line stock has such heavily tinted windows. Whenever I go to get on one at White City or Ealing, on a bright day, I tend to do a double take because the train appears to be dark inside, as if out of service.

I don't think any other line has windows with any significant amount of tint.
