A clever bit of data visualisation using journey data released by TfL. A day's worth of Tube system usage has been portrayed as a "pumping heart" and vessels for London. tubeheartbeat.com/london/

Very interesting. It also further proves that West London has a better distribution of London Underground services compared to the East. Both this heartbeat data visualisation and geographical maps have already demonstrated this. However, what this visualisation shows is that lines to the East are actually heavily overloaded such as the Central, Jubilee and Victoria Lines.
Crossrail 2 is certainly going to change this, though I sometime despair at the fact that this will be a long way from materializing, much like Crossrail 1.

There may be more Underground lines to the west than the east, but when the Overground is taken into account (particularly the former GER lines), not to mention TfL Rail, the imbalance is less marked.

The Central line being red really looks like a blood vessel about to burst in the morning peak!

Hey guys, I know snoggle posted about this way back in 2016 but the thread's been locked by now - just wondered if anyone knew what the red, green and black rings meant on the stations when you show Station Changes? tubeheartbeat.com/london/Thanks!

It appears to be the "highest" event happening at the time: Red - Entries Green - Exits Black - Interchanges If you click one of the circles, information about the station appears and that's it's colour code. <<superteacher - old thread unlocked and merged with new one created by angelislington>>
