Hi all, new to this site, I’m not an expert, nor do I work on the Underground, but having worked near Barons Court for nearly 30 years I’ve formed an affection for the D Stock and for the last year or so have been trying to compile a portfolio of photographs of their final days… Following detailed observations of workings over several (fairly) full days, each involving about 60 of the 80-odd workings which could be D Stock, I’ve come to the conclusion that (contrary to some respected opinions on this site) on any given day trains are allocated pretty well randomly to specific workings, some of which may change during the course of the day. I’ve compiled some stats on the percentage of workings (by Train No.) which are seen D Stock, and these have been surprisingly close to the 20% mark between May and August 2016. Sorry if I’m telling you experts stuff you already know, and do tell me if I’ve got it wrong, but if anyone’s interested in further details, please say, and I’ll post them (if space allows).
If all the S stock have now been delivered for several months, presumably TfL is now making sure they get the maximum value out of the remaining D Stock – is that correct?

There are still 10 trains of S Stock to reach London and 16 D Stock trains remaining.
