I'd love to be evacuated into the tunnel, and keep my digital camera on me when I get the Tube just in case - but I agree it's unlikely! It's not all fun and games! It's pretty dark down there and the surface you're walking along is very difficult. There are trip hazards and people have been hurt walking along the tunnels in the past. It's also filthy down there, what with the rats and the dust. The risk of leptospirosis, for example, is not to be taken lightly. I wasn't being entirely serious - I know such things only happen in proper emergencies.

www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-11661576Fancy dress headgear with metallic ornamentation was blown, dropped or thrown onto the track. Or possibly someone cast a spell on the Northern Line. (There are some as don't hold with that electricicisty - it's witchcraft, I tells 'ee)

When the Northern Line had to do multiple detrainments on Halloween due to the "witch's hat incident", many of the passengers seemed to quite enjoy the experience. I'm not sure I heard about that, what happened? A witch's costume hat blew off a woman's head and ended up on the track near Chalk Farm. It caused a positive earth of the traction current system, which disabled about four or five trains in the Euston - Hampstead / Kentish Town area, all of which had to be detrained along the tunnels. Being near close of traffic most of the detrainments were carried out with absolute bare minimum staff (in a couple of cases just the driver and station supervisor), although to be fair it all went pretty smoothly. Plenty of camera-phone footage was taken of people all made up in Halloween costume covered in blood walking through the tunnels, it gave the illusion that a major disaster had happened. This would have been about 4 or 5 years ago I think. (I dread to think what would happen how with the Fit For The Future - Stations setup in place).

Dropped a hat on the power rail? Did it crackle or cackle?
