Oh! George RoMney! I always wondered why a Met. loco was named after a pencil manufacturer!

Oh! George RoMney! I always wondered why a Met. loco was named after a pencil manufacturer! Never heard of him either! Indeed, a quick look at Wikipedia reveals that I know who the namesakes of exactly half the locos were (including both names for No 2). Fortunateky, Wikipedia provides links to all their biographies. It seems that No 3, and the station at the uttermost limits of the Met's domain, were named after different members of the same family

I am doing No 11 in grey for my layout. I appears it was the last loco in grey!
I want an LT 12 but not with a brown roof!!

To get the examples you want in the livery you want is going to require modelling skills which I, for one, don't have. Hornby used to take special orders in tinplate days. I wonder if Heljan would do so?

I have no 1 so planning to add an extra 1 to make 11! Going to weather it too looks way too clean for war time conditions!
