It seems that the first one has arrived early as I just saw it at Bounds Green

The first one arrived ages ago (back in July), and they've been testing on the mainline for a while now. Entry into service is soon.

if Aslef accept the longer trains That dispute is related to the Gatwick Express pool of drivers within GTR. The Thameslink drivers have been operating 12 car trains driver only since about 2009. There shouldn't be any dispute with the 700s.

Filmed a few weeks ago. I think this train actually arrived here in summer 2015.

I don't understand then door colors. The livery looks like a new TOC just took over and slapped a vinyl logo on. Why not have them match the pink in the logo? Distinguish it from the Great Northern fleet

109 arrived January 16. The first 700 (106) arrived early in the morning of 31st July 2015. Ah, thanks, I should have realised that more than just the one has been delivered. The front makes me think of a Star Wars / Battlestar Galactica / Hunger Games style 'storm trooper' (etc). The train's front is designed for protection in case of a 'bump' with something else. It looks as if the main defence is at solebar level. Aesthetics have been sacrificed! Simon

I like it personally, more interesting than the rather bland Aventra front end.
