Which maker (or makers) supplied the Metadyne machinery i.e. the actual rotating machine itself?
There seem to be several available descriptions of Metadyne stock and the battery locos, but none I ha ve found record who the maker was.
I suspect either MV or BTH but have no evidence.

J. Graeme Bruce's Steam to Silver (ISBN 5BN 85329 012 1) tells us on page 134:
"At the time that new stock was being considered for Metropolitan and District Line replacement requirements a new system of control was being developed by Metropolitan Vickers known as the metadyne system. Arrangements were made in 1934 for a 6-car experimental train to be tested to see whether this system could be applied to the new rolling stock to be purchased."

Yes and this is confirmed in Piers Connors COP stock story. The experimental train was formed from 6 1905 Metropolitan railway motor coaches formed into pairs.
They were fitted out in a similar way to the new LT image internally and externally (in the way the Circle stock was) but the end cars were given revised marker light and destination boxes- now that I would love to see a photo of!

Thanks!
Steam To Silver is not in my collection although I have read it - probably where I got MV from.
