Can anyone tell me what happened at Oxford Circus this evening? I have heard things from someone pulling the emergency alarm to a station evacuation to a simple broken down train. Staff throughout the evening reported severe delays on the Victoria whilst the useless status thing showed a good service everywhere

I stood outside Oxford Circus for about half an hour hoping to be let in. Unfortunately they had closed the station for all passengers (I assume the Central and Bakerloo were non-stopping) but what I heard over the tannoy that I could make out from outside the station was a story about a broken down Victoria Line train. I eventually decided to walk to TCR so didn't wait for the station to reopen.
I don't know if that announcement was true, however, and wasn't able to check. I never believe announcements and have been caught out too many times by the "GOOD SERVICE ON ALL LONDON UNDERGROUND LINES" being repeated over and over during multiple line suspensions.

Yes a defective train at Oxo on the South. The station quickly became overcrowded and closed. Sensitive door activation, followed by someone taken ill, then multiple passenger alarms operated. Then no forward movement. Train shut down and opened twice, only RM mode was available so it limped to Victoria sidings to stable. Not a good service by any stretch!
