Whilst on my weekly visit to Didcot Railway Centre with No. 1 son, I picked up a wonderful set of 1924 magazines that rejoice to the name of "Cassell's Railways of the World" by F.A. Talbot. In Part 13 (10/09/24) on pages 498-512 there is a wonderful article on the tube railways of London that I would like to share with you. The Triumph of the Tube RailwayAlthough produced in the UK, my feeling is that they were primarily for a North American audience with weights quoted in thousands of pounds etc. Nonetheless, it is an interesting read and my favourite must be the photograph on page 508 showing the narrow-gauge construction railway and siding laid out in the temporarily closed station of Borough. I recall CSLR referring to these somewhere. I must warn though that the file is rather large at nearly 8 MB and may take some time to download, especially for those not blessed with broadband. Best regards, Hutch
