Crossrail 2 will go no nearer to Windsor than Shepperton, which is ten miles away. Slough, on Crossrail 1, (CrossBetty) is less than three miles from Windsor. Anyway, HM has more than one given name. Is it mere coincidence that XR2 will serve Alexandra Palace, and some proposals for XR3 include Marylebone? Or name one of them after the Duke of Cambridge, and then the logo can be one of these

I vote Chelney, a name which has existed for decades.
Sending Crossrail 2 to Ally Pally is madness, when there are other more worthy areas that don't have any trains and would welcome them.

Didn't old 'Enry have his palace in Eltham though...
I would like a non-regal name for CR2 except maybe Palace. Alternatively the Viking line in honour of the original vic proposal?

Buried in your press link: The leaders want to work with the National Infrastructure Commission to secure three key things. The first is a commitment by government to Crossrail 2 to ensure its construction can begin in 2020. So, as we don't even have that yet, I'll suggest the BATCOM line. BAkerloo To Camberwell Once More-so our ancestors will probably be discussing this subject in 2116, just as we have discussed the Camberwell extension over a century after the Mayor of Camberwell first mooted that one.

Good grief. Have people nothing better to do? There isn't a finalised route, there is no funding to build it, there is not a finalised business case and nothing has been put to parliament for powers to build it. The name is the last thing anyone should be concerned with. [rolls eyes]
