I have just had an email from TfL regarding Christmas and New Year services on TfL Rail
I am just curious as to how trains are reversed at Chadwell Heath or Seven Kings. I know that you can reverse through the depot from Ilford and through the sidings at Gidea Park but don't know where the crossovers are for reversals between these points.

Chadwell Heath has a centre reversing siding. As for Seven Kings, there is a facing crossover between the down and up lines at the Liverpool Street end of the station (primarily allowing trains from Ilford depot access to both platforms). I'm not too familiar with the signalling in the area, but it seems like this would allow a down train from Ilford to arrive in platform 3 - the up platform used by trains heading back to Ilford. There doesn't seem to be any other alternative. carto.metro.free.fr/cartes/metro-tram-london/

Just found the siding at Chadwell Heath on Google. That went in since I last used the line and since the arial view in Bing was last updated.

Presumably the bulk of the work is in connection with continued track rationalisation for crossrail, but does anyone know what is happening? Also which 2 lines will be closed between Shenfield and London between 29th and 31st December?

Real Time Trains shows all Metro services using platform 1 at Shenfield, Up trains use the main to Ilford, down trains use the Electric to Ilford, cross over to the up Electric and use platform 3 at Seven Kings before crossing to the down Main.
