looks like the indicators between harrow and moor park are finally showing the next train times. Finally!
Does this possibly mean time is now ticking for the lightbox indicators at harrow?

Hope not, but you never know. They (the light boxes) were renewed only a few years ago.

If you have a closer look at the one at the top of the stairs leading to platforms 3 and 4, one destination display reads "Amersham. Change at Aylesbury" instead of "Amersham. Change for Aylesbury".

If I remember rightly, Gloucester Road retains its old indicator alongside new (as does Earl's Court, of course). I'm not sure if the Harrow indicators are regarded as sufficiently 'heritage' though. Barons Court still has them. 15 years ago many, many stations still retained them.

I love the light boxes. Another thing that was a part of the Underground when I was growing up.

They probably never will, as it's early-1960s equipment (June 1962 for Harrow - Rickmansworth and March 1963 for Harrow southwards). And 'Uxbridge' is (was) on the indicator on platform 1 as well.

Barons Court still has them. 15 years ago many, many stations still retained them. Barons Court only has them on three platforms, which is a shame but maybe its because eastbound District Line trains all sort of go the same way. Last time I looked the truly vintage light box at Gloucester Road did not work. I feel sure that it did work when I filmed the station in the 1990s. I have a few light box indicators in this flickr album, plus a film on youtube showing some as well. I regret that I was too late to film al lines, so there is nothing from the Northern Line, the Victoria Line and some unique stations such as Edgware Road (Met). www.flickr.com/photos/citytransportinfo/sets/72157647726266863Simon
