Just out of curiosity, does the LTM have any copies of the very first WTT issued for each Underground line? It would be interesting to compare service levels on the Piccadilly in 1907 compared to service levels in 2007, for example.

Snippets of timetables appear from time to time in books that get published...

I did a search for District timetables for Q8 on the museum computer yesterday. The collection isn't quite comprehensive, but certainly goes back a long way. As the results were ordered in reverse chronological order I didn't get as far as the earliest. Unfortunately the curator who understood the location system (everything in Acton can be located to the drawer or about a square metre of floor, provided that all movements are logged and you know which cabinet is which to start with) wasn't around so there wasn't enough time to actually try and find something. The most significant timetables, photgraphs etc are kept in Covent Garden, where they should be accessible in the library if you phone/write ahead. Everything else is kept in yet another room at Acton which I didn't know existed.

I think a lot of numbers were restarted in the 70s - I have Bakerloo WTT1 on my shelf.

I doubt the Met was one of those - I can believe that 322 WTTs have been issued between 1863 and 2007.

I think a lot of numbers were restarted in the 70s - I have Bakerloo WTT1 on my shelf. The Bakerloo numbering was restarted when the Stanmore branch was transferred to the Jubilee line in 1979. The Circle & Hammersmith was restarted when the Hammersmith & City came into being in the 1990s, before that it was known as the Metropolitan line No1 section, the Met Main being No2 section.

Next to me, by the 'pooter I've got Bakerloo 77 (last Mon-Fri WTT before Jubilee); I've also got Bakerloo 1 (first WTT /after/ Jubilee opening) was there ever a Bakerloo 78 (Saturdays) or 79 (Sundays)?
Sorry for the question - bit of a TT geek. ;D
