Does anyone know what the odd looking oblong blocks are between Hai and Fai on the OR? There are also a few approaching NEP too.

If they're what I think you are describing they are WW2 "dragon's teeth" to prevent attack by tanks etc of the aerodrome at Fairlop....

yes-the runways were there until the late 60's Used to race banger motorbikes there @ 1950-51 The entrance was off Aldborough Rd:/Painters Rd:

The old airfield is now Fairlop Waters Country Park and golf course, not sure if any of the old runways are still there.
