I coming down to London on Friday and wonder where the best station would be to spot without causing to much bother and attention to myself.

Possibly Stratford, as you can also look down from the public footbridge over the station. This shows what I mean. (Central Line trains are seen at the start and near the end) Also, the BTP police there are used to people with cameras as this is a popular station for train spotters. However if you are trying to get train numbers then Shepherds Bush might be better as there is a short section of island platform at the far end from the escalators.  Simon |
