Ladies & Gents
I've just sent an e-mail to The Pump House/Lea Valley Experience Project Executive asking for some information.
I've also asked for some details of the restoration of former LU stock and their long-term plans.
When I have some info I'll update below.
Regards
Christopher

It was there about three weeks ago! I will be going that way on Monday evening to have a look.

Can any body help? Ladies/Gents I have been advised that the R49 car 21147 is not owned by The Pump House/Lea Valley Experience museum (several of their displays are privately owned). It would appear that the car has been recalled by its owner, the Routemaster Heritage Centre at Hanwell. Hope that clears that up I will be shortly adding a new thread about the CP car 54256 currently residing at The Pump HouseRegards Christopher

Thanks for your help Chris. I've tried to find websites relating to the Routemaster Heritage Centre and it would seem they don't have one of their own unless you know different. Unfortunately the CP Stock the Pumphouse has is in a real sorry state. Take a look on the UKTrainsim forums at the photography section. forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic.php?t=58920

I did a check and it seems it had gone by June '06 to Hanwell. Nobody seems to have an e mail address for them. One source says that they are in trumpers Way, Hanwell, off the Boston Road and another 152 Windmill Lane, Southall...no phone numbers!

Sorry for my confusing post yesterday. CP DM 54256 is at Low Hall Transport Museum, Walthamstow. (But this is not the same place as the Pumphouse Museum, Walthamstow.)

Anyone know the condition of the ones at mangapps? I last saw the R38 car (22624) in 1995 so I can't comment on its condition now, however then it was in a dark red/almost maroon colour scheme and appeared to be in reasonable condition; certainly nowhere near as poor as 54256 @ Low Hall museum - I'll try to dig out some photos (can promise due to the volume of packets of photos I have in a couple of metal boxes), scan them in next week at work if I get a chance and post them here Anyone else seen it since...?? Goes off rummaging..... UPDATE - 12:10am AH-HA - found em & that only took 15 mins Ok a brief description of these August 1995 photos - the body of the car is in maroon/train red, however the cab front in is bus read with the roof canopy still in situ (this has been removed from the 3-car CO/CP unit & CP car at Low Hall) and no signs of external corrosion. Internally* also in good nick with all cushion seats and grab rails in situ - I wil scan/post them during the week *As usual I asked to gain access and permission was granted This R-stock car was converted from Q38 stock trailer car 014178 in 1950 PS: I also came across some unrefurbed internal/external 73-stock photos I must have taken around the same time - am I sad or what!! ;D ;D ;D

Have you got any cab pictures Chris, they may be of use for our next MSTS project of the R49. Was their any differences in the controls between the R38 and R49 stock? Darren.

Darren I'm visiting several offices today/this week so I'll need to bide my time re scanning in - I have the R38 car photos in my car so don't worry I do have a photo of the drivers side/controls of the R49 in Acton Museum so you can at least make a start - I will dig my laptop out of my large car boot later and have a delve through as well I'm using a Banbury office desktop at the mo in case you're wondering ;D Re the difference(s) between CO/CP & R stock controls, I think the answer is yes there are differences, but I'm not the best person to ask.... I will have to look to other members for that All I ask is please bare with me cause I am run off my feet this week. Regards Christopher

Yes, nice shots, Chris. Any pics of the underframe? Russ Sorry matey - thats all I have Perhaps some people think being into trains is sad, stretching that to tubes is one thing.... but to be into car under-frames I think just takes it a bit too far ;D ;D ;D
