I've heard for a while that there was to be an 08 acquired for use in the depot for the purpose of shunting wagons about.
Well, I finally saw it this morning - it's 08780 and is resplendent in a dark blue livery. When seen it was hauling a set of EWS ballast wagons into the depot from the sidings adjacent to West Ruislip station.
Whether it carries any other markings I'm not sure, as I only got a fairly quick glimpse of it, but I'll keep my eyes peeled and hopefully get a few photos.

I'm surprised that Sarah lacks the tractive effort to replace the 08 - I wonder if it will ever happen to find its way into the sidings next to West Ruislip, or better yet, on the main...
Do you know if the 20 will appear at Upminster anytime soon? MetApp once said that Metrobungle intended to buy/rent/lease a 20 and paint it in the corporate livery, and use it to haul D stock to Romford for dispatch during refurbishment.

Not sure what is happening about the 20, but the last I heard is that Class 66s will be used to transfer the D stock to/from Upminster depot, one each end of the train, and will involve quite a bit of shunting about in UPM depot, as the D stock will have no shoe gear when they return, so the whole train will go into the depot, then the country end 66 will uncouple, the other 66 will shunt the D stock off to another road, collect the next D stock to go, then shunt that back to couple up to the other 66 ready to leave the depot I also understand that all these moves will happen at night, which should please the local residents ;D

Oh brother...
I wonder if the 66s will be banned from certain of the depot roads due to their length (longer than C3, right?) and their gauging. What sort of adapter will be used for changing the Wedgelock couplers into drawhooks for attaching to the 66?

Doubt It CJ. They used to use 'match wagons' to transfer stock to NR lines with diesels in the old times. A match wagon is simply an old guards van with mechanical wedgelock coupler at one end a s crew couple the other
