How come the new uniforms have been slow to get going? at oxford circus one person was wearing it, and looked very smart, but other staff were wearing old. it didn't look good having two different uniforms simultaneously...

I'll admit that I'd forgotten about the new uniforms. Perhaps that is the real sticking point between the unions and TfL!

The staff you saw at OXO will still be wearing the "trial" version (alongside a few other stations, but I forget which...!). This was only given to staff rostered at those locations. At "key zone 1 gateway stations" (King's Cross & Paddington are the only two I can speak for with any certainty!) the 'final' new uniform was delivered to rostered staff only at the end of May, when the public launch happened. All other station staff have now sent off their uniform requisition forms, the deadline for which was last week. So it should start rolling out more in the next month or so. ...however, fixed term contract staff were not part of the initial deadline last week, and new staff are still getting the old uniform, so we could be seeing two styles for some time yet!

It will be rolled out for station staff first, then for drivers. We should be looking at about the new year before all staff are uniformly uniformed.

On our station group, staff taking voluntary severance and who are leaving mid 2016 will not be getting the new uniform. Saves a few quid I suppose.

If the new uniformis are the one with the red zips and Roundels on the cuffs. All I can say is I am glad I don't work for LUL anymore. They look like something out of "Thunderbirds Are Go"

My favourite uniforms are the ones in use during the Eighties, in a dark blue colour, with a red and white band across the chest.
