Hi There,
I am due to join LU in September, and have sent off my forms for my Staff and Staff Nominee Passes. Can anyone confirm all the services the Pass is valid on and including if any NR Services?
Many Thanks James

Hi There, I am due to join LU in September, and have sent off my forms for my Staff and Staff Nominee Passes. Can anyone confirm all the services the Pass is valid on and including if any NR Services? Many Thanks James All LU services. All TfL contracted bus services - those with the roundel sticker on the front - including where they run outside Greater London. All DLR services All London Overground services including to Watford Junction and Cheshunt All TfL Rail services from Liverpool Street to Shenfield All Tramlink services Chiltern Trains - Marylebone to Amersham C2C - Fenchurch Street to Upminster (not valid on those few trains that run via Stratford to Liverpool St) TSGN - Finsbury Park to Moorgate (NOT valid from F Park into Kings Cross) TSGN - Kentish Town to London Bridge / Elephant and Castle (note that Thameslink does not currently serve London Bridge) Greater Anglia - Liverpool Street to Stratford only London Midland - Euston to Watford Junction only. NOT valid on Watford to Clapham Junction trains operated by fellow Govia company Southern, you must use London Overground trains and change at Willesden Junction. You can't use TOC services where they parallel bits of the Overground - for example New Cross Gate to West Croydon or Queens Rd Peckham - Denmark Hill or Stratford - Romford - Shenfield fast trains run by Abellio Greater Anglia. I believe you get a discount on River Services and the Dangleway if you show a valid staff pass. You should get a paper document with your passes that explains the validity of the passes. You obviously have to be careful not to misuse the passes as they can be withdrawn if such is discovered. I've done the above from memory so if I've missed any bits I am sure other forum members will correct me.

You also get discounted Eurostar tickets for £59 return for yourself and up to 3 companions but you need to pre book via TfL.

'NOT valid on Watford to Clapham Junction trains operated by fellow Govia company Southern' Did not know this I remembered after first posting my reply that I had a copy of a TfL Ticketing Guide from Jan 2015. Double checking that confirms my list of NR validity. The Southern WLL service is defintely NOT on the list of valid routes. You can't even use it between Shepherds Bush and Clapham Junction where it overlaps with the Overground. The peak time WLL extras operated by Southern are also barred to TfL Staff Pass holders.

Has the process changed? I've only ever used it once. And a related question on Eurostar discounts - are they confined to the Brussels and Paris services or can you now get a discounted fare on the Ski train and the new Marseilles service? I'm way out of date on this and don't know if the scope of the offer has been expanded or not.

Hi Guys,
I have now started LU and received my Staff/Nominee Oyster Cards, I recently went to Shenfield using TFL Rail to visit a mate and tapped my Staff Oyster on the barrier and got a code '57 - seek assistance' message. I presented my card to the gateline assistant who allowed me entry, however I just wanted to know is there any reason as to why this happened and could it happen at other stations?
Thanks

Thanks Possibly - sometimes it takes them a while to update the software to accept staff passes, when converting over to TfL, but it will only be a temporary thing.

Abellio station and gates not modified deliberately. Manned gates only.

Thanks Shenfield is run by Abellio and they don't allow staff passes through willy nilly. I believe the same applies at New Cross run by South Eastern. In both cases you have to be "passed" manually through the gateline. It's all a bit pathetic IMO but I'm sure they can justify it to themselves.

St Pancras South Eastern does not like Priv tickets either

St Pancras South Eastern does not like Priv tickets either Not surprising, since it would appear from the list above that they are not valid on any South Eastern services - so the only stations you could conceivably use them are Greenwich, Woolwich Arsenal and New Cross, where TfL services are behind the same barrier line as SET's . I guess Abellio's caution at Shenfield is to stop you using AGA services - if you try to exit the station when there hasn't been a TfL train for a while a human inspector might smell a rat where a ticket gate would not. It seems a bit petty though.

Priv tickets are valid on SE High Speed but have time restrictions placed on the, only valid 10:00 - 16:00, 19:00 - End Of Service Monday to Friday and all weekend and Bank Holidays . Plus Priv's are valid on most NR routes there is some restrictions again on times or special services i.e Steam runs and I also believe Sleeper services

Another gateline that requires a manual swipe-through is Clapham Junction, whilst we're listing them!

I'm pretty sure the restrictions on SET High Speed were removed some time back, so PRIV (or boxes) can be used at any time on any train.

Thanks Hi, Thanks for all your help with this. With regards to getting the seek assistance message at NR stations. I have used my staff oyster fine at Euston NR, Watford Jct NR, Blackfriars NR, Kings Cross Thameslink NR and Fenchurch Street NR without problems and the barriers accepting my Staff Oyster. Anybody know the stations where like Shenfield I will encounter a seek assistance message on the ticket gates. Thanks
