Today (Saturday 11th July for future readers), there has apparently been some disruption on the Central line. My mother has just returned home (at 23:00) and has tasked me with finding out exactly what it was that disrupted her journey. So, good people of District Dave's Forum, anyone know what happened? Ta

It strikes me as a shame that this kind of information isn't available somehow directly from TfL, but also as a good thing that the membership here is so knowledgeable!

www.tubestatus.net/?full Tube Status is very useful for finding out information on delays as it provides a delay timeline for each line as well as departure boards

Is the Central Line actually red, or orange? I'd call it orange, you see, but several other people I've heard describe it as red.

Apparently it's Pantone 485C (and variants thereof) which are, indeed, red. But I still see it as orange. Edit: Additional. In fact, according to the TfL colour guide, tfl.gov.uk/cdn/static/cms/documents/tfl-colour-standard.pdf, it's Corporate Red and is the same colour as a London Bus, which is most definitely red. How odd.

I see it as red. I agree that it's usually scarlet but I always consider that as a shade of red.
I once worked somewhere where the walls of the office were covered in Hessian. I once returned to the office to the tail end of a heated discussion as to whether some flecks in the Hessian were pink or orange.
When asked for my opinion I said I thought they were quite clearly apricot!

If you see the Central Line as orange, how do you perceive the Overground? A different shade of orange.

Not a good day for it it seems Thoughts with all those involved today :/ Thanks for bringing it back on track --strange thought processes that turn this item into a discussion on the colours in hessian wallpaper. Forum threads are more like free ranging discussions amongst friends (down the pub) than rigid academic debates. Although I know how annoying it can be when you start a thread about something that really interests you, return to see a dozen responses, and find it's gone completely off track at post three!
